I made this card for a friend who was badly hurt last week; so I combined two challenges, Mojo Monday, which was to use square or round, and Cupake Craft Challenge, which was to use the colors pink and brown. I love these colors together, so it was fun making this card. I cut the card shape with my cricut, used my nestabilities for the circle. Embossed with the cuttlebug. Design paper was some I've had for years, from All My Memories Studio Collection. Basic Narrows ribbon from Michaels. Prima Flower and the sentiment was from Verve's Notes of Prayer.

Mojo Monday

Wow, it's been so long since I have posted anything here! I decided to play along with Mojo Monday this week, I definitely need some inspiration to get me in the creative mood lately. I really like this card in person, but it doesn't look as nice in the picture. Oh well. I used design paper from Ancestry.com, Chocolate Chip ink from SU, GinaK stamp, Prima flower and brads.

National Scrapbook Day

Today is National Scrapbook Day and I feel so guilty for not scrapbooking! I just haven't had the time lately to do any scrapbooking or cardmaking. :( I've been busy homeschooling, but only one more semester to go!

Once I get some new paper crafts made, I'll post them.

A friend who owns a store asked me to make some signs, so I have been doing that in my spare time. They're fun to make, and I love doing new things!

I just love spring, another reason I haven't been crafting, the outdoors just call to me on days like this.

Sorry for the fuzzy picture, I took this with my cell phone. This card did look better in person! lol. I made this card for a nice guy who had given our church a piano. I thought the sheet music stamp from Gina K was perfect for this. The sentiment is also from Gina K.

I had a very nice Valentine's Day, just being with my family. Over the weekend I went to my Stampin Up demonstrator's ( Deb) house and she showed us how to make these cute owls from punches. So I used my owl on my card for hubby. The sentiment is from GinaK.

Deb also showed us how to make these pretty flowers. Paper, ribbon and brad from SU, Martha Stewart leaf punch and sentiment from GinaK.

I am finally back to scrapping and thanks to a sketch on Let's Scrap, I did this layout today of our dog Ranger who died last year. I enjoyed putting this layout together, it brought back some sweet memories of Ranger. The paper is from The Pet Stack.

Silly Ole' Bird

This Cardinal has been hanging around our house lately, he's so funny! See him on the mirror? Well, he looks at himself in the mirror, then hops up on top. Funny thing is, he then goes to the other vehicles and does the same exact thing! Maybe he thinks it's another cardinal in the mirrors, or maybe he just likes himself?! He does take a break and sit in the tree branches above the driveway. I hope he sticks around for awhile.

Just wanted to show you this card I made for a couple's anniversary at church. I love these cute little birds, I have a short memory, thinking they are Verve. You can see I did zig-zag stitching and just used scraps of paper I had, so not sure where the paper is from.

Prayer Journal

I made this journal for a friend at church to use as a prayer journal. I took one of those magnetic lists from the Michael's dollar bin, took the magnet off and separated all the pages, then I made covers from chipboard and covered them with pink cardstock. Cuddlebugged the white cardstock for the pocket on front. Flowers from Prima. Can't remember where the ribbon and brads came from. Scripture stamp from Verve and quote from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps. Stitched with my sewing machine. Used my Bind -it- all to bind it together. Speaking of stitching, I was just blog hopping and found a challenge to create something with stitching, so I think I will link my journal there. You can find all the other beautiful creations at "Just Us Girls".

I made this card for the birthday challenge at Stampin' Royalty . I used the ancestry.com Designer mat pad, again, for the print. Textured cardstock for the brown. Birthday Wishes stamp from GinaK Prima flowers, buttons and zig-zag stitching.

Cupcake Challenge 40

I can't believe I've made two cards in one day, LOL. I'm finding out how much fun the sketches and challenges can be. This challenge is for HSE's cupcake challenge .....For this card I used blue DP from The Old World Stack - a stack from Michael's; just plain white, pink and yellow carstock. Embossed with the cuttlebug. Flower from Prima. I stitched with variegated thread, I actually had a spool with yellow, blue and pink thread - perfect for this challenge!

Fudge

I made some chocolate and peanut butter fudge to give away and needed something to put it in, so I decided to try Teresa's directions for these easy to make boxes! Mine are pretty simple, but Teresa has a couple beautiful ones on her site. I used AC cardstock, cut the snowflakes using the Cricut, stamped Merry Christmas with a stamp from Michael's and the sweetest blessings stamp from GinaK's Sweetest Blessings set. Used Martha Stewart glitter on the snowflakes, though it doesn't show very well and attached the snowflakes with snowflake brads. Not feeling very creative today, so this was the best I could come up with, LOL.

ABC Books

These are the ABC books I've been making for my nephews and niece. I used up alot of my alphabet stickers inside. :) I used the Cricut to cut out the titles and some of the shapes. Then I laminated all the pages and covers and used the Bind-it-all to bind them all together. I also added some double headed rivets on a couple covers, using the Cropadile Big Bite.

These cute little girls were cut out with the Cricut, using the Paper Dolls cartridge.

A few of the inside pages didn't have much room for stickers and shapes, I had too many people for some of the letters. :)

The bear, bird, baby, carrott and cat were stamped. The bell, bone and corn were from Cricut cartridges and the rest are stickers.

All stickers except for the sheep, she was stamped.

For the last few pages I used BIG shapes, I ran out of ideas!

Mojo Monday Sketch

This is my first time playing along with the Mojo Monday sketch. I decided to do a scrapbook page, since I'm way behind in my scrapping! Someone gave me a stack of paper, so I don't know where the paper came from.....I cut out the letters with my Cricut, and just used stamps from the Dollar Tree for the 7 and Happy Birthday. Nothing fancy here, LOL.

Gina K Designs is having their very first customer blog hop ! The challenge is to use one of the newly released stamp sets.

For this card I used the Bible verse and a couple of the borders from Nina Brackett's Vintage Border set. I also used the snowman and star from an older set, Carolyn King's Warm Winter Wishes. And for the snowgirl's hat, I used the cupcake from Gina K's Sweetest Blessings, I just cut off the top part and flipped it upside down for a nice hat! The snowgirl is the same stamp as the snowman, I just cut the head from the body, turned the body over to the back side and drew the flowers. :) The base of the card is just plain black cardstock, the background paper is from Provo Craft 42-6335, Warm and Wooly Snowflake by Lori Gardner.

I've been busy this week, and have a few things to show you once I take pics. :) So glad that today is Friday! I am planning on cleaning the house today and then head back down to my craft corner in the basement. I finally have all my stuff in one spot and it is so nice. I love being able to leave my projects out until they are finished. I'm working on some Christmas presents, it won't be long until Christmas is here and since we're going to Maine for Christmas, I really need to get my shopping and making done early!

Can you believe how fast time flies?! I haven't had a chance to create anything this week yet. I think I will work on my craft area some today, the sooner that gets done, the sooner I can play. :) I need to get busy on Christmas presents, I don't want to wait until the last minute, like usual.

We have been finding eggs OUTSIDE of our chicken house! lol. Our chicken house has little flaps on the side that you can lift up to collect eggs....well, they haven't been shutting tight.....so we figured out that one hen would lay an egg, then another one would sit down, the egg would roll out of the opening,and then that hen would lay her egg. The amazing thing was, that none of the eggs broke! So, yesterday I went and stapled screening on the back of the boxes, so nothing would roll out...also made sure the flaps were shut tight. Chickens are so funny, I love watching them.

Organizing!

I am busy organizing right now, trying to get some more things put away from the move. I can't wait to have my craft area in the basement done! I will only have a corner, but that doesn't matter. Today, I moved the dog crates to the basement also, and cleaned off my back porch. I also went and voted this morning, got groceries, and then picked up penicillin for my goat. Bunny, (the goat), has been sick now for a few weeks and we've been trying to figure out what's wrong. She hasn't been able to walk now for about 4 days. But this morning I noticed she is a little perkier and she was able to get up and move for a few steps when I tried to give her a shot. The vet thinks she has listeriosis, some kind of infection that goats can get. I'm praying the penicillin will make her better, I hate having to give her shots!
Well, I need to go finish making supper.

Another year

Tommorow is my birthday, but somehow it isn't exciting as it used to be! I guess because I'm getting closer to 40. I know that still isn't very old, but sometimes I feel older! Losing a few pounds would surely help me feel better, so I'm going to make a goal of losing at least 50 by my next birthday. My DH was so sweet, he gave me some money for my bday.....so tomorrow I think I will visit Michael's, I haven't been there for a few months! I have a 40% off coupon, so hopefully I will find something I have just got to have, LOL. My sisters and mom gave me, my daddy and a nephew a birthday party at the beginning of the month, so I've already had my cake. :) My youngest sister offered to keep my boys tomorrow evening, so I can have a night with hubby......where should we go out to eat? cause I'm NOT cooking on my birthday!

Star Centerpiece

I think this star turned out pretty! I have always like the star my sis-in-law has on her table, so when she decided to try to make one for a friend, I figured I would try it too. It did take a few hours to figure it out, but I found some good directions on the net. :) Now I need to make a few more, since this one is mostly fall colors.

I used the Cricut to cut out the sunflower, I think from the Stretch Your Imagination cart. The seeds are just Stickles. Embossed the wavy line with Cuttlebug.

I'm jealous!!! I've been browsing through my favorite blogs and others, and I just don't know how those crafty people do it! All the cards and scrapbook pages are just beautiful! Some of the tools they use I've never heard of, LOL. I'm a simple scrapper and I have yet to handmake a card. Well, other than the ones I used to make my parents when I was little.

So what to do? How do all you creative wonders come up with your ideas?

So I finally got my Cricut Expression exchanged, mine had stopped working. Now I am ready to get busy creating with it! Seems like other things keep getting in the way.............housework and bookwork being the two I hate most.

I want to set aside a certain amount of time each day/week to work just on creating. I think it's a great way to relax. :)

I guess I should make a list of what I want to accomplish first, I do much better when I have a list. I LOVE lists! or maybe I just love marking through something when it's done. That is such satisfaction.

New Year

So how has 2009 been so far for you? Did you make any resolutions? I didn't. I have never kept one yet, so figured I wouldn't waste my time making one this year! I do have a short list of things I need to work on:

1. Be a better mother and wife.
2. Get organized!
3. Scrap more pages!
4. Lose some of these pounds (like always).

I know there are many more things I need to work on, but I'll overwhelm myself if I keep writing. LOL.

These are some of the tents I made for nieces and nephews last year for Christmas. They are made from PVC pipe and material. I used my Cricut, again, to cut the shapes on the front.

The kids seemed to really like them, I hope they enjoy them much in the years to come. :)

Explosion boxes! When you take the lid off, the four sides of the box, "explode" out - with 3 flaps on each side, you can add lots of photos and sayings........If I can make another one and take pics of it when opened, I will post that later.....These were Christmas presents..............I used the Cricut Expression to cut out the snowflake and the flower on the tops of the boxes. One of my favorite things is scrapbooking! I love to scrap! I think part of the fun is collecting all the paper and embellishments. :) This year I plan on doing more pages, and actually using my supplies. Once I get my Cricut replaced, I want to use that to do lots of things. I would also love to go to some crops or get some of my friends together to scrap. It's so much fun to scrap with friends.
